Case Management for Those Who Need It Most

AICM – Michigan is an independent Michigan Auto No-Fault Case Management company helping individuals with complex injuries navigate the medical, rehabilitation, and recovery process following a motor vehicle crash.

Our experienced Case Managers work with clients, families, physicians, rehabilitation providers, attorneys, and insurance professionals to coordinate the services and resources necessary to support recovery and long-term independence.

Because no two injuries—and no two lives—are the same, Case Management begins with understanding the individual. We identify needs, address barriers to care, coordinate providers, monitor progress, and help keep everyone involved moving toward clearly defined goals.

For more than a decade, AICM – Michigan has provided independent Case Management for individuals with catastrophic and complex injuries throughout Michigan. Our approach remains straightforward: put the client first, communicate clearly, and coordinate care with purpose.

HOW WE APPROACH CARE

Our Approach to Case Management

Effective Case Management is more than coordinating appointments. It requires understanding the whole person, identifying barriers, anticipating needs, and bringing the right people together at the right time.

At AICM – Michigan, our Case Managers take an active, individualized approach to Michigan Auto No-Fault Case Management. We work closely with the client and their family while coordinating with physicians, therapists, rehabilitation providers, attorneys, and insurance professionals involved in the recovery process.

Our role is to help create order in what can quickly become a complicated system of medical care, rehabilitation, benefits, appointments, equipment, and services. We identify needs, address gaps in care, facilitate communication, monitor progress, and continually evaluate whether the plan is working for the individual.

The Support You Deserve

After a serious motor vehicle crash, recovery can involve far more than medical appointments. Clients and families may suddenly be managing physicians, rehabilitation, medications, equipment, transportation, home needs, insurance benefits, and an unfamiliar healthcare system.

An AICM – Michigan Case Manager helps bring those moving pieces together. We coordinate care, communicate with the professionals involved, identify unmet needs, follow through on recommendations, and help address barriers that can interfere with recovery.

A Company Rich in History

AICM – Michigan was founded in 2014 with a straightforward belief: individuals recovering from serious injuries deserve experienced, independent Case Management focused on their needs, their goals, and their future.

From the beginning, our work has centered on individuals with catastrophic and complex injuries following motor vehicle crashes. Over the years, AICM – Michigan has grown in both size and expertise, while remaining committed to the individualized approach on which the company was built.

Our Case Managers have helped clients and families navigate complex medical treatment, rehabilitation, Michigan Auto No-Fault benefits, home and community needs, equipment, transportation, and the many challenges that can accompany life after a serious injury.

OUR FOUNDATION

The Heart of It All: Maureen McCall

Maureen McCall was an experienced Case Manager whose commitment to her clients helped shape the values that continue to guide AICM – Michigan today.

She understood that exceptional Case Management requires more than coordinating services. It requires listening to the client, understanding the family, recognizing what is happening beyond the medical record, and remaining engaged when circumstances become difficult or complex.

That philosophy became part of the foundation of our organization: know your client, communicate openly, follow through, and never lose sight of the person behind the case.

Her legacy remains part of how we practice Case Management today.
THE NEXT CHAPTER

A Turning Point: The Transition to AICM – Michigan

In 2014, Michael Malecki, RN, FF/EMT, became President of the organization and began the next chapter in its development.

Building on the Case Management principles established before him, Michael brought decades of healthcare, emergency medical, and organizational leadership experience to the company. The organization continued to evolve into what is now AICM – Michigan: an independent Case Management company serving individuals with catastrophic and complex injuries throughout Michigan.

As AICM – Michigan has grown, so has the depth of its team. Nurses, social workers, rehabilitation professionals, and other experienced clinicians bring different perspectives to complex cases while working toward the same objective—helping each client achieve the greatest possible level of recovery, function, and independence.

AICM – Michigan President Michael Malecki, RN, FF/EMT, has spent decades working in healthcare and emergency services. His professional background includes emergency and trauma nursing, healthcare leadership, emergency medical services, and direct experience caring for individuals and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

That experience helped shape a practical philosophy at AICM – Michigan: complex cases require knowledgeable professionals who understand healthcare, communicate effectively, recognize problems early, and remain accountable for following through.

Michael's professional and community leadership has also included recognition as one of Crain's Detroit Business 40 Under 40 and decades of involvement with Special Olympics.
