Cathleen McClelland has been an integral part of the AICM – Michigan Team since its inception in 2014 and currently serves as the Director of Case Management. With over 15 years of experience in the case management field, Cathleen has specialized in working with individuals involved in catastrophic car accidents since 2011. Cathleen has a strong passion for her work, her patients, and educating others about the benefits available through auto insurance.

Cathleen earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Miami University of Ohio, one of the oldest public universities in the United States, in 2007. She is a Certified Case Manager (CCM), recognized by the Commission for Case Management Certification, a global leader in advancing the field of case management.

In her role as Director of AICM – Michigan, Cathleen is committed to staying informed about the evolving landscape of Auto No-Fault legislation. She prides herself on maintaining high ethical standards and leads the AICM team to uphold these standards.

Beyond her professional life, Cathleen is a proud mother and wife who enjoys playing golf, pickleball, and tennis in her free time. Cathleen holds another title she is very proud of – she is the Girls Varsity Tennis Coach at Lakeland High School where she get to mentor young athletes in the sport she loved since she was 7 years old.

Jillian Hays, MS, OT/L, CBIS

Assistant Director of Case Manager

Jillian graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health in 2014 and a Master’s Degree from Grand Valley State University in Occupational Therapy and Health Sciences in 2016. Jillian became a skilled licensed and certified Occupational Therapist and started her career working with individuals at a Skilled Nursing Facilities. There she began treating those who were disabled, ill or injured patients with the therapeutic use of daily activities. Her goal was simple and direct; help patients improve, regain and develop the skills needed for day to day life and work. 

Jillian has a vast experience working with individuals across the life span that have occurred injuries and illnesses effecting their independence with daily living tasks both physically, cognitively and psychologically. Her experience and education propelled her into the role of Director of Rehabilitation at Heartland Skilled Nursing in Livonia and then Reliant Rehabilitation of Livonia. These positions, which entailed her not only providing patients with the utmost quality of care, but managing an entire team of therapist while working alongside a multi interdisciplinary team.

Jillian has stated that her, “past experience of being a Director of Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy is what drew me to Case Management”. Jillian’s goal is to assist and meet the needs of each client in order to help make their day to day functioning more accessible, independent and functional. Jillian strives to promote improved quality of lives for each individual client.

Jillian is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and during Jillian’s free time she enjoys being a “dog mom” to her favorite pup, Hank, and traveling the world one country at a time.

Jennifer Shilling, RN, BSN

Nurse Case Manager

Jennifer Shilling has been a valued member of the AICM Team since 2017, bringing with her over 20 years of nursing experience, including roles as a Director of Nursing for home care agencies and in Case Management. Her medical journey began right out of high school when she joined the Army National Guard as a Combat Medical Specialist. Following an eight-year service commitment, which included a tour in Desert Storm, Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan-Flint.

Jennifer is dedicated to client advocacy, taking a personalized approach to address each client’s unique needs and aspirations in their recovery journey after a catastrophic accident. Jennifer is committed to guiding her clients through every phase of their healthcare and recovery, her commitment shows no limit. Jennifer’s passion for her work is evident in her statement, “It’s my goal to help my clients through all phases of their healthcare and recovery, ensuring best possible outcomes. I love my job and treat my clients as I would my own family!”

Outside of her professional life, Jennifer is a proud mother to her son who is an elite level track athlete at Davenport University in Grand Rapids.

Jennifer Kosh, M.S. CCC-SLP, CBIS

Case Manager

Jennifer rejoined the AICM-Michigan team in March of 2020 after a short hiatus. Jennifer is a Speech Language Pathologist by trade with over 25 years of experience in the field working in outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, home care and community reintegration programs for a variety of client diagnoses and ages. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Audiology and Speech Science from Michigan State University and her Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Central Missouri State University. Shortly after graduation, she moved to southern Florida where she resided for 12 years soaking up every bit of sunshine and warmth that she could.

Jennifer has had many titles, including: Speech Pathologist, Director of Rehabilitation, Team Leader and Mentor; however, she is extremely happy and proud that she has resumed the title of Case Manager at AICM-Michigan and is able to once again assist with coordination of care and advocate for clients that have suffered injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents. She often states, “My biggest downfall that has become my greatest strength, is not being able to stay in my own lane. I feel the reason I succeed as a case manager is because of my desire to help with all aspects of one’s care and recovery and to be able to look at the big picture and of course, weave in and out of my lane!”

Jennifer loves being with her family and pet dogs. She enjoys fitness and yoga classes, running, and spends most of the summer either up north or watching her son play travel baseball. She loves to travel and hopes to someday own a countryside home in Abruzzo, Italy.

Al Lanning, RN, BSN

Nurse Case Manager

Al joined the AICM – Michigan  team in February 2023 bringing a diverse set of experiences and education as a Registered Nurse (RN). Al received a dual degree in Biomedical Sciences and Philosophy, with a concentration in Professional and Applied Ethics, in 2012 from Western Michigan University and worked briefly as a technician in a chemical manufacturing plant before going back to school and receiving a Bachelor’s of Nursing from Wayne State University in 2015.

Al began his work as an RN in the Emergency Department at Detroit Receiving Hospital where he received a Daisy Award for his unwavering commitment to patient advocacy. Al has since served nursing roles in both home care and hospice settings before coming to Auto Injury Case Management.  Al has a broad range of experience treating patients from diverse backgrounds, managing a wide spectrum of conditions, across various healthcare settings.

Al has developed a unique perspective as an auto injury case manager through his extensive experience across the healthcare continuum. Having treated patients in the emergency department immediately following motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), as well as providing home care services post-discharge, he possesses a nuanced understanding of the physical and emotional trajectory of recovery after such traumatic events. This diverse nursing path has not only enriched his technical skills but has also honed his ability to listen attentively to patient frustrations and concerns, particularly those navigating the complexities of the healthcare system in the aftermath of MVAs. In his nursing practice, Al continues to have a deep dedication to ensuring the highest standard of care through persistent and proactive support for his client’s needs and rights. 

In his personal life, Al loves music, camping, hiking, reading, learning trade skills, and hanging out with his wife, children, and friends.

Jessica St. John, BSW, QMHP

Case Manager

Jessica St. John is the newest member of the AICM-Michigan team, joining in March 2023. With a Bachelor of Social Work from Spring Arbor University, Jessica brings a robust background in social work and operational leadership.

Specializing in auto, mental health, and work comp cases, Jessica has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting individuals and families during their most challenging times.

With a solid educational background in Social work and as a qualified mental health professional (QMHP) Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge that is complemented by a decade of hands-on experience. Throughout her career, she has displayed her skills in navigating the complexity of catastrophic cases, providing expert guidance and support to clients facing the complexities of auto accidents.

In the realm of auto cases, Jessica has proven expertise in helping clients navigate the aftermath of traumatic accidents. She has a deep understanding of the legal and insurance processes, ensuring that individuals receive the necessary support to rebuild their lives after such life-altering events. Jessica is an excellent advocate and can provide an array of resources to support you through your recovery process.

Beyond her technical expertise, Jessica is known for her exceptional interpersonal skills. She approaches each case with a genuine desire to understand the unique circumstances and needs of her clients, fostering trust and collaboration throughout the recovery process.

In her free time, you can find Jessica traveling to various places or at the lake! She loves to find Michigan’s hidden gems and anything water related. She also enjoys playing pickle ball and spending time with her dog, Frankie.

Erin Douglas, CCM BSW, QMH

Erin Douglas is a seasoned and certified Catastrophic Case Manager, with extensive experience navigating the complexities of Michigan’s Auto No-Fault system. With over a decade of expertise, Erin has a proven track record of assisting individuals with severe injuries, ensuring they receive the care and resources necessary to achieve the best possible outcomes. She is adept at managing intricate medical cases, coordinating care plans, and facilitating access to vital community resources tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Her deep understanding of Michigan Auto No-Fault regulations allows Erin to advocate effectively for her clients, guiding them through the often-challenging processes of securing appropriate care and benefits. Erin specializes in medical records management, patient assessments, progress evaluations, and medication oversight. Her compassionate, person-centered approach ensures that clients feel supported every step of the way, from initial assessment to long-term care planning.

Throughout her career, Erin has built strong relationships with clients, families, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders, fostering a collaborative approach to care. Whether coordinating meetings between healthcare teams or educating clients on available resources, Erin’s dedication to delivering exceptional service is unwavering. Her commitment to her clients and her extensive knowledge of the Auto No-Fault system make her an invaluable asset to those navigating catastrophic injuries in Michigan.

Michael Malecki is a dynamic and visionary leader, renowned for his extensive contributions to both the healthcare and emergency services industries. As the founder and CEO of multiple successful ventures, including AICM-Michigan, M & M Home Care, Kneaded Relief Massage & Spa, and Supportive Home Health Care, Malecki has built a legacy of innovation, compassionate care, and community engagement.

In his role as President and CEO, Malecki is responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction to his companies, ensuring they remain at the forefront of patient care and service delivery. His leadership style is people-focused, emphasizing the importance of empathy, teamwork, and continuous improvement. With a career spanning over two decades, Malecki’s expertise is rooted in a diverse background that includes nearly a decade with the Detroit Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Services Division and over 20 years as a Registered Nurse in local Emergency Departments. His experience also extends to executive roles within hospital administration, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency.

Malecki’s entrepreneurial spirit has driven the growth of his businesses, all of which are dedicated to improving the lives of those they serve. His achievements have been recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business, which honored him with the prestigious “40 Under 40” award, celebrating his professional success and significant civic contributions.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Malecki is deeply committed to giving back to the community. He is an avid supporter of the Michigan Special Olympics, where he has volunteered for over 30 years and was named Volunteer of the Year for his unwavering dedication. Malecki also serves on the Nursing Advisory Board for Washtenaw Community College, where he helps shape the future of nursing education, and has held the position of Vice President on the Advisory Board of The Gathering Place, a non-profit organization in Redford, MI, dedicated to serving the community.

Malecki’s involvement in professional organizations is equally impressive. He is an active member of the Michigan Brain Injury Provider Council (MBIPC), the Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI), and the Coalition Protecting Auto No-Fault (CPAN). Additionally, he is a prominent figure within the Livonia/Westland, Plymouth, and Southern Wayne County Regional Chambers of Commerce, where he advocates for policies that benefit both businesses and the community.

In addition to his business and philanthropic pursuits, Malecki continues to serve as a Firefighter and EMT with the Salem Township Fire Department, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to public safety and emergency response.

Malecki’s multifaceted career, combined with his dedication to his community, positions him as a leader who not only excels in his professional roles but also makes a lasting impact on the lives of those around him.
